Level 3 Award: Neonatal & Paediatric Phlebotomy Course

This online training course covers essential topics required to achieve all Learning Outcomes for the award of Neonatal and Paediatric Phlebotomy, providing a Level 3 Nationally Accredited certificate.

Who Is It For?

This course is perfect for phlebotomists that have been practicing for a while, and would like to learn new skills and techniques. We have developed this course for candidates that have either:

  • Achieved our Introduction & Live Bloods Course
  • Already have at least 3 months phlebotomy experience (You will be required to send a reference as proof of this)

Therefore you will already have existing knowledge of Health & Saftey, Consent, Professionalism and also work place practices regarding adult phlebotomy. You will also be familiar with phlebotomy equipment such as needles, bottles, sharps disposal, tourniquets etc. 

What Will I Learn?

In order to achieve a full certificate, learners must successfully complete 12 Mandatory Units.

Unit 2 – Differences between adult and paediatric phlebotomy
Unit 3 – The Law & Consent
Unit 4 – Human & Environmental Psychology
Unit 5 – Pain Relief
Unit 6 – Infection Prevention / Hygiene
Unit 7 – Equipment
Unit 8 – Anatomy & Physiology
Unit 9 – Blood screening and Test Groups
Unit 10 – Neonatal & Paediatric site selection & procedures
Unit 11 – Analytical errors
Unit 12 – 
Real Life Scenarios

Certification

You will recieve your accredited ceritifcate within 4 weeks of successful completion of the course.

What are the course entry requirements?

To be able to do this online training you must have completed our Introduction to Phlebotomy Practices & Techniques course and Live Bloods course.

You can also take part in this course if you have at least 3 months phlebotomy experience, upon booking the course we will request a reference as proof of this. Upon reciept of proof, course content will then be sent over to you via email.

So, if you have already completed our Introduction & Live Bloods, you can book onto this course for the standard price of £150 plus VAT.

If you have not completed these courses before, but have at least 3 months previous experience, you can book onto this course for the £200 plus VAT. 

If you have no phlebotomy expierence at all, you will need to book onto our Introduction & Live Bloods before being able to apply for this course. 

PLEASE NOTE – We are not able to accept you onto this course if you have completed a phlebotomy course with an alternative provider unless you have gained at least 3 months phlebotomy expierence following certification. 

 

Beyond the course, what help will I get?

You will be supplied with a factsheet detailing the units covered to keep and refer to and will have full access to advice and guidance from our office team. 

We will also include you on our contact list of ex-students and will make sure you are kept informed whenever there are changes in national standards, legislation or good practice.

You could also choose to continue onto our Level 3 – Advanced Phlebotomy Practices & Techniques course to continue your professional development. 

How Do I Book Onto The Course?

You will be taken to the check out where you can fill in a few details, and pay using your credit/debit card or PayPal account.

Within two working day’s, you will receive a confirmation email confirming that we have recieved your booking and further instructions to follow.  

Booking Terms & Conditions

Once you have received our confirmation email of booking no refund will be applicable. 

You will have 8 weeks from booking date to complete the online course, failure to do so will result in loss of course and no refund would be applicable. 

Once your online training has been submitted, this will be marked by our assessor within 2-3 working days and feedback/results will be sent to you via email. If extra information is required from students your online training will be sent back to you with feedback from the assessor. 

You will have up to 2 attempts at submitting the training following feedback from the assessor (if required), however final attempt must be within the 8 week time frame. Following final submission of the course within 8 weeks, if this is still not completed with a successful pass rate then unfortunately the course will be failed and a certificate will not be issued.
