Description
Why not add a Live Bloods session onto your Introduction course?
You will be able put your new skills straight into practice and gain valuable experience collecting blood from a live person. Take your Phlebotomy skills to the next level and gain the confidence required to apply for job roles.
It is the only live bloods courses in the country that results in an accredited certificate by a nationally recognised awarding body, the NCFE. This accreditation ensures the quality of the teaching and assessment, ensuring your experience is aimed towards achieving tangible learning outcomes, and making it a valuable asset on your CV.
To attend this course you must have completed our Level 3 Introduction To Phlebotomy course. It is a fantastic confidence booster, enabling you to experience taking blood samples from real life people.
The course teaches one during the course hours -
- Unit 5: Applying Phlebotomy Practices and Techniques in a Live Environment
During the course, you will cover:
- Know how to correctly prepare a live phlebotomy clinic
- Know how to correctly take blood from a patient
- Understand how to control the spread of infection within a live phlebotomy environment
- Understand how to correctly package samples for transport
You will receive your fully accredited certificate, to add to your units 1, 2 & 3 certificates. We apply for certificates once a month and as soon as we receive these from NCFE they will be sent out to you in the post. We can issue you an attendance certificate in the meantime.
The award is a level 3 qualification, so it is deemed to be of a similar difficulty to A Levels. It adds an extra, optional unit to the standard Phlebotomy Practices & Techniques course, so it is essential that you have completed this course, and attained the mandatory units, first.
If you have no prior experience, you can book onto our Level 3 Award: Introduction to Phlebotomy Practices & Techniques course.
If you have prior experience, it may not be necessary to complete the whole introductory course. We can refresh your pre-existing skills and knowledge as part of the live bloods experience. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about this.
If you feel you have prior learning or experience which could supersede our introductory course, you may be able to use this to meet the minimum requirements of course entry. This is called Recognition of Prior Learning. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about this.
We will include you on our contact list of ex-students and will make sure you are kept informed whenever there are changes in national standards, legislation or good practice.
You could also choose to continue onto our Advanced Phlebotomy Practices & Techniques course to continue your professional development.
This course takes place in Leeds and the full venue details will be emailed to you two weeks prior to the course date with the exact location.
